What Is Kinesiology?
Defining Kinesiology: The Science of Human Movement
At its core, kinesiology is the study of human movement. But beyond this definition lies a profound connection between the body, mind, and spirit.
Our subconscious mind, which is stored in the body, holds every experience we’ve ever had—from the womb to the present day. However, our conscious mind (the brain) does not retain this same level of memory. Instead, our past traumas, stresses, and experiences are stored in:
• Muscles
• Organs
• Glands
• Meridians
• Bones
• Body systems
• Chakras & auric field
The Body’s Supreme Intelligence: A System Designed for Survival
The human body is the most sophisticated and intelligent creation on Earth. It is designed with one primary intention—to survive. No matter the amount of stress, trauma, or imbalance it endures, the body will do everything in its power to keep functioning.
This intelligence operates through a highly interconnected system, where physical, mental, emotional, nutritional, hormonal, and spiritual pathways constantly interact.
For example: If you experience stress in your digestive system and don’t address it, another part of your body will compensate to maintain balance. This could manifest as:
• Poor sleep
• Emotional dysregulation
• Hormonal imbalances
• Menstrual changes
• Anxiety, worry, or overwhelm
Every imbalance has a ripple effect, impacting multiple areas of your well-being.
How Kinesiology Identifies Stress & Trauma in the Body
The way our muscles move provides deep insight into where stress and trauma are stored. In PKP Kinesiology (Professional Kinesiology Practice), we learn to muscle test 150 different muscles, including the pelvic diaphragm and womb muscles.
Each of these muscles correlates to an organ, gland, meridian, or body system, allowing us to pinpoint and rebalance the trauma and stress held within them.
